“My Master Is There”

An elderly man went to visit his family doctor. As he was preparing to leave the patient said,

“Doctor, I am afraid to die. Tell me what lies on the other side.”

Very quietly, the doctor said, “I don’t know.”

The man then quickly responded:

“You don’t know? You are a man of God and you do not know what is on the other side?”

The doctor was holding the handle of the door. On the other side came a sound of scratching and whining, and as he opened the door, a dog sprang into the room with an eager show of gladness. Turning to the patient, the doctor said,

“Did you notice my dog? He didn’t know what was inside this room. He knew nothing except that his master was here. When the door opened, he sprang in with gladness and without fear.”

“I know little of what is on the other side of death. But I do know one thing, I know my Master is there, and that is enough.”

  1. This is very encouraging. God is my master and He teaches me to be fearless in looking toward heaven, in building our family in loving my friends and my enemies too. May He continue to be with all of us, even if we don’t acknowledge Him. May He continue to guide the leaders of our country to make decisions that He would approve of to guard our freedom to chose Him. May our country survive the division that we are experiencing. To Him be the glory for sending His son to allow us to have a personal relationship with Him and have eternal life with Him. God bless. Thank you.

  2. Our 41 year old son shared this with me in late Oct. 2015. We lost him 3 weeks later on Nov. 11, 2015. Sometimes when our adult children are no longer close by we may wonder and worry about their spiritual life. This post that he shared with me so shortly before hearing his Master’s voice brings me great comfort in the midnight hour when the grief of his passing is nearly overwhelming. THIS brings joy to my heart. We WILL be with him again when our names are called by our Master.
